How Does Wireless Charging Work?
Are you sick of navigating Spaghetti Junction every time your phone needs charging?
Wireless charging is the answer to your problem, opting to give your device more life without a cable. Wireless charging offers convenience and eliminates the need for dealing with tangled cables or worn-out charging ports. It's commonly used for smartphones, smartwatches, earbuds, and other small electronic devices.
What is Wireless Charging?
Wireless charging is a way to charge your electronic devices, like smartphones, without plugging them into a cable. Instead, you place your device on a special pad, and it magically charges. It can be a much neater way if you like to keep your space tidy and it can be much more convenient than remembering to take your charging cable everywhere you go.
How Does Wireless Charging Work?
Wireless charging, although a magical revelation to the everyday phone user, is quite a simple process. It simply requires a charging pad and your phone - that’s it.
The wireless charging pad is a flat pad or mat that you plug into the wall like any other device. This pad has a special coil inside it that creates an invisible energy field known as an electromagnetic field.
Your phone or other device has a coil inside it. When you put your device on the charging pad, the energy field from the pad makes a small electric current flow in the coil inside your device.
That electric current goes into your device's battery and charges it up, just like when you plug in a cable. You don't have to plug anything into your device; you just place it on the charging pad, and it starts charging - it’s that easy.
Wired Charging vs Wireless
While wireless charging is becoming more popular, it doesn’t look like traditional wired chargers are going anywhere anytime soon. There are still some benefits to wired charging that are worth considering before you go to dispose of that charger cable.
Faster Wired Charging
Wired charging often takes less time than wireless because it’s plugged directly into the power source and passed directly into your device. If you’re in a rush then your cable will continue to be your best friend.
Compatibility
Wireless charging requires specific circumstances to be compatible with devices. While there are wireless charging cases like ours, having to purchase other things makes it a bit more difficult than using the wire that comes with your device in its box.
Flexibility
You don’t really have to choose. You can opt for both wireless and wired meaning you have more chances of your device being able to get charged and not dying out on you when you might need it the most.
While wireless charging offers convenience and eliminates the need for cables, wired charging remains a dependable and widely used method for charging electronic devices. Both wired and wireless charging will likely continue to coexist to meet the diverse needs and preferences of consumers, but why not try it out yourself and see which you prefer?
